PERIPOWER peristaltic pumps

The new peristaltic pumps for media that is abrasive, viscous or contains solids

Schlauchpumpen

The PERIPOWER peristaltic pump is a powerful self-priming positive displacement pump, which impresses customers with its extreme robustness and ease of maintenance. It operates in such a way that abrasive media and media that is sensitive to shearing can be gently pumped. Our peristaltic pumps are ideally designed to efficiently pump media with a viscosity of up to 20,000 mPas, 25 % dry matter content as well as particles with a size of up to 40 % of the hose diameter. You can rely on the PERIPOWER pump to deliver first-class performance in a huge range of applications.

Hoses are replaced in a matter of minutes – no need for special tools or specialist staff, keeping your system ready for use at all times.

Overview of PERIPOWER peristaltic pumps from FLUX

The FLUX PERIPOWER peristaltic pump needs very little maintenance and is designed for longevity. Should maintenance be required, the user-friendly design allows the hose to be replaced with ease in a matter of minutes. There is no need for special tools, and specialist staff don’t have to be present on site. keeping your systems ready for use at all times.

Functional description – How does a PERIPOWER work?

The PERIPOWER peristaltic pumps are self-priming, rotating positive displacement pumps. This means that the medium to be pumped is drawn in through the hose and then pressed towards the outlet in the pump housing.

The function is based on a rotating rotor with rollers on the opposite side. These rollers squeeze and release the flexible hose. The hose is run along the housing. Due to mechanical pressure, there is a division between the medium in the suction and discharge side, producing a specific transfer space, which is pushed/displaced along the hose as the rollers roll away.

Thanks to this gentle and low-shear manner of pumping, PERIPOWER makes light work of pumping media that is abrasive, viscous or contains solids. FLUX rollers are made from robust POM and the hoses are available in NRH, NBR or EPDM.

With peristaltic pumps, the level of solid content and the viscosity of the medium is irrelevant to the flow rate because the volume to be pumped is determined simply by the motor speed in combination with the pump size. The delivery quantity can be controlled easily and accurately using a frequency converter.

Peristaltic pumps are particularly well suited to pumping solids

Our peristaltic pumps are ideal for pumping media with a high solid content. It doesn't matter if the materials are abrasive, highly viscous or contain long fibres – our pumps rise up to every challenge. Thanks to their robust design, they provide a constant and reliable pump capacity. Perfect for applications in the chemical industry, waste disposal, biogas plants and others.

These hoses are available for the PERIPOWER

We offer three different hose materials. There are also FDA-compliant variants. The maximum temperature is 80 °C.

Available materials:

  • NRH (Natural Rubber Hose)
  • NBR (Buna-N)
  • EPDM
  • FDA possible: NBR, EPDM

NRH:

  • Very well suited to abrasive media, long service life. Resistant to diluted acids/alkalis and alcohols
  • Examples: Sludges, media containing solids, butyl alcohol, ethanol

NBR:

  • Very good resistance to oils, greases and alkalis. Good mechanical properties
  • Examples: Butane, lubricating and cutting oils, petrol, kerosene, olive oil. Generally, virtually all oils/greases.

EPDM:

  • Very good resistance to chemicals, including concentrated acids and alkalis
  • Examples: Vinegar, diluted acetic acid, 50% sulphuric acid, potassium hydroxide, cleaning agents, citric acid, caustic soda, …

How does the roller principle work?

  1. The rotor turns such that the first roller touches down onto the hose and compresses it. This compression produces a division between the suction and discharge side.
  2. A vacuum is produced on the suction side, which draws in medium. As soon as the second roller compresses the hose, a hermetically sealed space is produced between the two rollers. As the rotor turns, the medium’s specific space moves towards the outlet. The rollers move along the hose, which presses the medium in the hose towards the outlet.
  3. When the roller is removed from the hose, the latter relaxes and returns to its original shape and the medium is let out on the discharge side. This cycle repeats continuously and the medium is pumped.

Accessories available as options

  • Pulsation damper: The pulsation damper ensures an even flow rate and effectively reduces peaks in pressure. By reducing pulsations, the pulsation damper helps to extend the service life of pump components and optimises metering accuracy in a multitude of industrial applications.
  • As of nominal size FHP-25, with hose rupture sensor: Using the hose rupture sensor allows a damaged hose to be detected immediately and the pump to be shut down. This improves system safety and prevents medium from escaping into the environment.
  • Frequency converter: Using frequency converters together with peristaltic pumps is an effective way of optimising the pumps’ output and your ability to control them. Adjusting the motor speed by means of the frequency converter allows the delivery quantity and pressure of the peristaltic pump to be controlled precisely, which enables you to flexibly adapt to different requirements and operating conditions.
  • Control unit: A control unit enables efficient and reliable pump control on the pump itself and optimises operating processes.
  • As of nominal size FHP-100, version with vacuum pump: For a greater suction height of up to 9 mwc, a vacuum is produced in the housing. As a result, the peristaltic pump produces greater suction on the suction side and the max. suction height increases from 5 to 9 mwc.
  • As of nominal size FHP-100, version with greater motor power: Max. pressure increases to 10 bar thanks to a reinforced gearbox with greater motor power.
